The office ofthe National Court Registry saysthe defamation case by Prime Minister Peter O’Neill against opposition leader, Belden Namah will go to court on Wednesday, June,the 5th.
A writ of summons has already been filed inthe National Court. It alleged Namah had told a gthering inthe Morobe Province on April 25th this year words to mean that Mr O’Neill had stolen public money.
The writ’said thatthe words from Namah impllied thatthe Prime Minister was dishonest and corrupt.
Mr O’Neill has describedthem as malicious and highly defamatory and said he has decided to sue Namah to front up in court and provide evidence.
Commenting onthe case,the Opposition leader said he is not intimidated and will front up to defend this case and fight all forms of white collar corruption.
EMTV, Reporter Scott Waide and News Editor, John Eggins have also been named as defendants inthe same case for publicity.
