SPORTS SCENE CO-HOST AND PRODUCER

EMTV seeks to recruit a Co-Host and Producer for EMTV’s SPORTS SCENE show which will  commence airing weekly in February on Thursdays at 7.00pm. SPORTS SCENE is a sports talk show  that keeps viewers updated on local and international sports. The show focuses on sports stories that hit  the headlines, stories that promote the sporting code and those stories that motivate young aspiring  athletes to one day realise their dreams. The Host and Co-Host discuss and review highlights that happen  weekly.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Extensive knowledge on sporting events and sports disciplines across Papua New Guinea and  Internationally.
  • Assist to plan the annual and weekly show’s calendar and research national and international sporting  events across all disciplines.
  • Be up to date in the know of sporting events at grassroots level, in towns, villages, communities.
  • Network and develop relations with sports foundations, clubs, committees, federations, organisations  and councils.
  • Assist to script program content for each episode, invite and confirm guests on the show and co-host  SPORTS SCENE weekly.
  • Work closely with the camera operators and production team to produce quality outputs for EMTV  viewers.
  • Attend sporting events with the production crew, conduct interviews and cover stories. Assist to conduct quality checks pre and post production.

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

  • Confident on camera and able to accept criticism whilst working to perfect co-hosting one of EMTV’s  most popular local production shows.
  • Clear speech, expressive voice and articulate verbal and written skills with the ability to structure  questions methodically and share sports knowledge with a passion.

INFOCUS PROGRAM HOST AND PRODUCER

EMTV seeks to recruit a host for EMTV’s INFOCUS which will commence airing weekly in February  on Mondays at 7.00pm. INFOCUS is a talk show presenting a variety of topics on Papua New Guinea  current affairs in a format that includes interviews and commentary. The program focuses on issues and  headlines of public interest. The Host zooms in on topics asking hard questions to uncover answers  through conversation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan the annual and weekly program calendar and research national current affairs and events.
  • Network and develop sound relations with government ministries, non-government organisations,  high commissions and embassies,private sector, community and church leaders.
  • Script program content for each episode, invite guests on the show and host INFOCUS weekly.
  • Work closely with the camera operators and production team to produce quality outputs for EMTV  viewers.
  • Gather factual and verified information, material, published documents and sources to produce a  compelling local program for high number of followers.
  • Attend events to stay up to date and be well versed with what’s happening in Papua New Guinea. Conduct quality checks pre and post production.
  • Confident on camera and able to accept criticism whilst working at fast pace to meet deadlines on  flexible hours.

ADVERTISING SALES MANAGER

Papua New Guinea’s iconic lead television broadcaster EMTV, seeks to recruit a talented and experienced Advertising Sales Manager to lead, plan, direct, achieve and effectively manage the daily commercial operational functions, and accountabilities of the sales department.

JOB SUMMARY

Manage all client advertising/awareness/public announcement campaigns using the power of Television to grow their business, reach the masses, and inform the public.

Create and manage sales opportunities with high sense of urgency in a fast pace environment selling perishable airtime. Plan strategies for optimum use of available inventory by innovatively designing and introducing new sales products and services.

Meet with decision makers, present innovative concepts, discuss requirements, design and tailor make EMTV products and services that offer campaign solutions to elevate client brands.

Take goal-oriented approaches in closing sales by accurately articulating EMTV’s value proposition and leveraging product knowledge in negotiations.

Oversee, monitor and control the output quality of sold services and contracted deliverables right through to the completion of the campaign project, meeting tight deadlines to optimize client investments.

Strengthen business relations with all EMTV clients and lead with strong customer service by providing professional sales and operational client care, with efficiency and genuine dedication.

Prepare monthly financial sales reports, manage weekly revenue pipeline forecasts, monitor and support the sales team daily activities, drive team performance, proactively plan and set sales strategies, pre-and post-sales to meet and exceed monthly individual and team targets.

Win as a team and lead with high work performance standards. Work closely with the sales, commercial, and production teams to understand and track schedules for major initiatives and television campaigns.

Build team capabilities and drive performance through guidance, empowering a business owner’s mindset, sales support and coaching.

CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

SUMMARY

Serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Papua New Guinea’s iconic public free-to-air television broadcaster, Media Niugini Limited trading as EMTV, a subsidiary of Telikom Limited. The Chief Executive Officer is based in Port Moresby and reports directly to Media Niugini Limited Board and Telikom Limited Group Chief Executive Officer. Under general direction, the Chief Executive Officer of EMTV is accountable for providing leadership and developing strategic media, commercial, financial and operational plans to drive profitability whilst complying with rules and regulations governing public broadcasting entities in satellite, and on-line spaces.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Represent EMTV and present information at media committees, state agencies, regulatory boards, community seminars and business meetings, on communication matters affecting public and educational broadcasting. Advocates on behalf of EMTV to potential donors, program sponsors, and benefactors, by actively participating in strategic funding initiatives pursuing contracts and grants from various agencies.

Negotiate and secure competitive broadcast license rights for high viewership sports and entertainment content, and drive the production of compelling in-house local programs to grow viewership and exceed revenue targets.

Maintain and improve EMTV National News content to high international delivery methods and standards whilst aligning with journalism principles and ethics.

Secure funding for equipment and infrastructure upgrade, develop and implement initiatives to increase and expand EMTV’s reach across Papua New Guinea to enable citizens’ access to free-to-air public information and entertainment.

Review, implement, monitor, control, and refine operational effectiveness of short and long term company strategic corporate plan and budgets, policies, operating processes, cost and productivity analysis, in addition to consistently driving changes required for improvement, best business practices and ISO9001 accreditation.

Evaluate, cultivate and improve an effective organisational structure with productive staffing ensuring to oversee recruitment of key roles, onboarding and on the job training to achieve EMTV’s goals and fast paced operational delivery timeframes.

Work closely with department managers to manage the day to day integrated operations including broadcast engineering and ICT, sales and advertising, programming development, indoor and outdoor productions, finance and human resources, and Papua New Guinea’s most watched national news bulletin.

Foster a commercially driven corporate culture that develops and mentors talent, promotes skill sharing, fosters team collaboration and winning mindsets with ethical practices.

Maintain EMTV’s position in the market as the leading Nambawan to Watch 100% Papua New Guinean owned national public free-to-air broadcaster, 35 years strong.

Prepare company business plans, proposals, business cases, reports, financial reports, and board papers, including efficiently executing job-related adhoc and miscellaneous assigned duties and tasks.

QUALIFICATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, CAPABILITIES REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor of Film and Television, or Bachelor of Communication and Media, or Bachelor of Business Management/Commerce. Additionally a Master of Business Administration will be advantage.

10 years’ experience in operational and commercial management roles, strong financial budget fiscal comprehension and management.

3 years’ experience in a General Manager or Chief Executive Officer Role with proven records of change and transformational success in fast paced environments.

Multi culturally oriented and highly adaptable to diverse constituents, resilient to unforeseen changes, and naturally possess proficient communication and etiquette skills at all levels.

Possess strong interpersonal and people skills, analytical mind, conclusive decision making and risk management skills, passion and drive to lead internal and external stakeholders to achieve company goals.

Capable of training employees, organizing, prioritizing, scheduling work demand schedules, team leading and executing projects with tight deadlines.

Sound knowledge and experience in sales, marketing, advertising, innovative product development, client relations, and service delivery legal contracts.

Knowledge and exposure to functions of integrated broadcasting systems, satellite operations, television technical hardware and software, studio, camera and editing suites, program production.
