Gerehu Fire Service Superintendent, John Gereresi says water rationing by Eda Ranu across theNation’s Capital is affecting their work.
He said this while responding to a fire incident at Gerehu Stage 2 yesterday in Port Moresby.
“The fire service truck is carrying only 1500 liters of water to assist with fire incidents in the Gerehu area,” he said.
Superintendent Gereresi said because of limited water they cannot respond to serious calls like this.
He said they had to refill at Waigani fire service station and come back to Gerehu to put out the fire.
Superintendent Gereresi said the slow progress in putting-off the flame has resulted in the house being burnt to the ground.
