Lae School Fights Awareness Starts

Morobe Provincial Heads’ and Lae Police Boss, Iven Lakatani was in Bugandi Secondary to start, Law and Order awareness in Lae Schools’.

It comes after the recent spike in school violence and the added problem of settlement clashes.Deputy Morobe Governor, Judas Nalau says the PEC will remove students from schools if they continue to fight.The Program begins here at the Bugandi Secondary School. It’s another attempt aimed at curbing school fights.

Provincial Administrator, Gioving Bilong, Provincial Magistrate Jeremiah Singumat and Provincial Education Chairman, Andrew Gena, the Provincial equivalent of the Education Minister, attended it.It’s simply a stance to encourage Lae students to stay out of trouble, after schools were put into disrepute over group clashes.

Combined with the drop in academic standards and drug use.Amidst all of this is the spike in Lae’s settlement clashes were most students live, raising concerns about student involvement and safety.It’s understood that Bungandi Secondary is the first. The Awareness Program includes other Lae School’s.  Bumayong Secondary was also visited today.
