Hidden Valley embarks on a World Class Tailing Dam

The Hidden Valley Gold Mine has embarked on building a world class tailing dam. The tailing dam is environmentally friendy and promotesthe government’s policy on responsible mining.

Environment and Conservation Minister John Pundari visitedthe tailing dam recently and was pleased withthe progress.

He says it is important mining companies considerthe importance ofthe environment tothe people when conductingtheir activities.

The government he says does not want a repeat ofthe BeP experience in Bougainville and will be visiting all mining companies to ensurethey comply with government policies.

Serious consideration he says will be given for the construction of tailings dam before any mining permits can be given to mining companies.
