Fiji Hopeful for Rugby League World Cup

Fiji may co-host the 2017 Rugby League World Cup with Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea.

Fiji National Rugby League CEO, Timoci Naleba, confirmed that the country will host two matches of the Rugby League World Cup.

He also said they have received a letter from the Rugby League World Cup committee expressing their interest for Fiji to be a co-host for the tournament.

Fiji Bati reached two world cup semi-finals in the past with the best performance coming in at the 2008 tournament which was held in Australia, when the side caught the attention of many with an impressive performance against France and Ireland in the pool matches.
