Eminem’s Mother’s Day Plans

From all his intense and sadistic rapping about his upbringing, Eminem is the probably the last person we should expect to get gushy and sentimental about Mother’s Day.

But the King of Pop revealed on Friday through his instagram a ‘headlights’ video teaser as well as an image that confirms that the rapper will be dropping a new Headlights Video to honour Mother’s Day.

The new ‘headlights’ visual as he teased, will be directed by Spike Lee and it will be set in Detroit where it all began.

The Marshall Mathers LP 2 track is an apology for his Mother Debbie Mathers whom he has had a public feud with. The rap is intense but heartfelt; tells a heartfelt story of a mother-son-relationship. Part of the lyric reads:

“But as stubborn as we are, did I take it too far, ‘Cleaning Out My Closet’/ And all them other songs, but regardless I don’t hate you/ ‘Cause ma, you’re still beautiful to me, ’cause you’re my mom/thank you for being my ma and my dad,”, and this basically underpins the theme of the song.

This song is one the many songs that exposes the kind of relationship the rapper had with his mother; however this song takes a more sentimental angle on appreciating his mother for how she raised him as it made him the person he is today.

The 41 year old rapper is one the biggest selling music artists and the headlights track is from his Eighth Studio Album.
