A 30 Days Call Out

A 30 day call out has been made for the Goilala District following a chain of killings in the area.

Local MP, Daniel Mona, and Provincial Police Commander Central, Chief Inspector Laimo Asi, condemned the killings including that of a local Catholic Priest. About 10 people have been killed in the district this year due to pay back.

Local MP, Daniel Mona appealed to the national and provincial government for funding assistance. He condemned the murder of a Catholic priest last week, and other murder cases, saying all resources will be sought to capture the culprits.

PPC Central Chief Inspector, Laimo Asi said so far, 12 policemen from the special services division are on the ground conducting initial investigations. 10 will be accompanying the Provincial Police Commander to the electorate this evening.

PPC said a 30 day call out has been made for the electorate. He said his men have identified the suspects and will be working against time and the geographical settings to capture the murderers.

The leaders reported that the pay killings have been back dated to some 10 years. The local MP said following this call out, he will launch a community policing program in the 3 LLGs in the district.

He said law and order has been and continues to be the major hindrance to development over the years. He said his administration will make this a priority in order to bring and restore peace and progress in the district.
