Air Niugini customer service drops to 45%

Following a self-critique, Air Niugini has identiflied a number of shortcomings.

Chairman Garth MclIwain told Air Niugini executives thatthere was a lack of customer satisfaction onthe domestic front. He gave a blunt picture of Air Niugini. It’s poor customer service.

He madethe statement when announcing Simon Foo asthe acting Chief Executive Officer of Air Niugini.

Currently Air Niugini has a 45% on time performance. It had twelve million customer disruptions in 2012.

The chairman urgedthe executives to runthe business as if it weretheir own business.

Simon Foo is acting asthe CEO sincethe appointment of former CEO Wasantha Kumarasiri who is nowthe new Managing director oftheIndependent Public Business Corporation.

A permanent CEO will be named in three months’ time.
