Some ofthe Nepalese detained over illegal entry into Papua New Guineahave threatened suicide.
Locked atthe Beroko Police station cells in Port Moresby for a month now,the detainees saythey are depressed and hungry.

Police confirmed thatthe prisoners are fed once a day. However,the prisoners say sometimesthey don’t eat at all.
One of officers admitted this isthe case whenthe number of prisoners is over thirty.
Hungry, worrlied and depressed, some ofthese Nepalese have threatened suicide.
Last month nine were arrested over falsiflied documents and were detained atthe Beroko Police station cell. Five more were arrested atthe Jackson’sInternational airport a week ago.
There has been no indication of any form of assistance fromthe Nepalese Embassy in Australia.
The immigration task force team saidthey are in close contact withthe Nepalese government to assistthese men return home.
The draw card of illegal immigrants isthe LNG project. Betthe immigration task force team says it is ready.
Meantime,the foreign affairs and labour department’s remain tight lipped aboutthe whole issue.
