Papua New Guinea’s Paralympic athletes have been gearing for the upcoming Pacific Games.
Currently, they are engaged in intensive training at Goroka’s National Sports Institute.
National Sports Institute representative, Geoffrey Gideon, says the paralympic squad looks fit and ready for the games.
The athletes have been training for the last three months.
The National Sports Institute in Goroka have been having its work out rooms packed each day with Paralympian athletes going through various training sessions.
The Paralympic athletes have been training hard in preparation for the upcoming Pacific Games.
Their sessions have involved the use of some of the latest training equipment at the National Sports Institute.
So far, three Paralympic athletes have been identified as potential participants for the Wheel Chair Short Put Competition in the Pacific Games.
Most of the athletes say the training at NSI is preparing them well.
The trainers say good results are expected from the Pacific Games.
The daily intensive training gives these Paralympic athletes the opportunity to perform at the highest level.
