Australian Government increases its aid funding to PNG

The Australian Government has increased its aid funding to PNG with an increase of around K85 million. Around K1.4 billion will go towards the Australian Governments initiatives, the Australian High Commission in Port Moresby says it will directly benefit the lives of Papua New Guineans.

Clean drinking water, something that was much needed during the 2017 earthquake which affected Hela and 3 other provinces. Water, once a disaster strikes, it becomes a humanitarian mission to get it quickly and efficiently to affected communities.

In 2017, millions were affected by a 7.5 magnitude earthquake, but days after the earthquake the real disaster struck. No clean drinking water led to thousands suffering from water borne diseases.
