In the Capital Rugby Union A Grade semi-finals that took place over the weekend, University Piggies defeated Defence in a tight match 26-25 in their clash at Sir John Guise Stadium.
They have now set up a grand final date with Harlequins, who defeated Wanderers to book their ticket.
The University side came out all guns blazing, but it was Defence who would score first.
University however would commence their own fight back and by halftime the score was 18-14 with Defence leading.
The match would gather further intensity in the second half with both sides fighting to gain control of possession and territory, with University then taking the lead 21-18.
University scored once more, however Defence would bring the match to a nerve-wrecking one-point ball game before University held on to win.
The CRU finals will see the Valley Hunters meet Harlequins in the U19 division.
A Reserve will have University meet Harlequins, and in the women’s final Spartans meet Harlequins.
