ICTSI Palais Hong Kong Schedule

By Godwin Eki – EMTV Sports, Port Moresby

ICTSI Palais will use the first three days in Hong Kong to do their final training before their first day match on Thursday.

“In terms of Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, there will be team training where we are just looking to finalise and find tune before we kick off on Thursday but it will be more quality training than being extremely intense”.

The Palais will play their first game against Hong Kong followed by two very strong sides against Kenya and Uganda.

“The two African sides are very similar to us as they have speed and height but we don’t look no further than Hong Kong which is going to be very challenging”.

Coach Tietjens says the team culture between the players has been outstanding since his appointment as Coach. Tietjens says if it wasn’t for the backing of ICTSI South Pacific and other government and corporate sponsors, training and travel to competition wouldn’t be possible.

“We are extremely grateful for our main sponsors and all the support and funding they provide us highly beneficial for our programs to run this training camps and hopefully place these girls on congrants and to obviously fund us to travel the world”.

Meanwhile the final team of 13 players to this years’ Hong Kong World Sevens Series Qualifiers will only see three Australian based players represented in the team: Gemma Shnaubelth, Yolanda Gittins and Marlugu Dixon.

ICTSI Palais will depart for Hong Kong this Sunday, March 31st.
