The Christmas Weekend in Lae was generally quiet with most residents celebrating in their homes and churches.
Despite having a one-day liquor ban in the city throughout the weekend, celebrations were orderly.
Police, however, reported an incident on Monday night, where a family was held up by more than 10 men, at the Second Seven Cemetery.
Police managed to bring in seven suspects.
Lae Metropolitan Commander, Chief Superintendent Anthony Wagambie Jr, said there have not been any major traffic incidents reported.
He said police operations will continue till the new year celebrations.
