Host of the 2018 Commonwealth Games, the city of Gold Coast today celebrated the countdown of marking 1000 days to the games.
While preparations for the host city is going well, with athletes accommodation, sporting facilities and infrastructures including transport, the event is set to be one of the biggest event ever to be hosted in Regional Australia.

The basketball match in Townsville will be played at the home of the Townsville Crocodiles.
Cairns resident and BPNG CEO, Joel Khalu, told EMTV Sports that PNG is in a good position to create a relationship between the two regional cities in north Queensland.
Meanwhile, the competition will be spread out around the city of Gold Coast with the opening ceremony to take place at the Metricon Stadium.
