The Electoral Commission expressed concerns that unsettled bills fromthe 2012 National Elections could jeorpadizethe Local Level Government elections this June.
The Electoral office said election managers in some provinces are living in fear because service providers who have not been paid are giving threats.
While Mr Trawen called for calm among service providers, he appealed tothe government to meetthese outstanding bills to avoid any disruptions or financial issues whenthe elections take place.
Electoral Commission boss Andrew Trawen called onthe government to providethe K15 million to settle outstanding payments.
Last week,the commissioner met withthe treasury, however he was not given any assurance ifthe needed funds will be given.
The local level government elections will take place onthe 6th of June. Mr Trawen saidthe issue at hand will not delay this.
Meantime,the government has approverd K50 million kina fromthe K80 million requested for the elections.
Mr Trawen called on all election managers to spend withintheir monthly budget.
