PNG Golf President, Peter Del Monte, after thanking Telikom PNG for their funding of K210,000, said some of the funds from the financial injection will go towards supporting PNG’s up-and-coming golfers.
” We need talent, and this will help in moulding our our young people,” said Del Monte.
The General Manager for Royal Port Moresby Golf Club, Scott Morrissey said since the inception of the competition, 12 players take part this year- an increase from the eight (8) that taken part last year.
” It’s great that we garner growing support every year,” remarked Morrisey.
National Retail Manager for Telikom PNG, Amos Tepi, said this is not the first time Telikom has supported Golf Tournaments, in fact Telikom has supported many other National and International events in the country.
” We pride ourselves in sporting entertainment for our people and for our valued clients,” Tepi told the small media gathering.
Team Captain for Telikom PNG’s Golf team, John Cholai, said he is confident the Telco will win this year’s title.
President of PNG Golf, Peter Del Monte said the event is also way of bringing together corporate business in the country to network and socialise.
” Telikom is the biggest Telecommunication company in the country and it is only fitting to run such an event,” said Del Monte.
