Telikom PNG Introduces Lower Internet Rates

In a bid to remain competitive, Telikom PNG has lowered its internet rates by 50%.

Telikom PNG’s implementation of new technology has been the driving force that has contributed to the low rates. The reduced rates are part of the government’s aim to reduce internet costs in the country.

Telikom PNG announced the 50% reduction for its prepaid and post-paid internet plans.

Marketing and Business Development Divisional Manager, Xavier Victor, said the company responded in a bid to remain competitive in the internet retail market.

Telikom PNG continues to roll-out new innovative technology which has reduced internet rates. The ultra-Broadband Service using the ADSL2 t technology ensures customers enjoy faster internet access.

The previous plan charge for a 1GB plan was K110 is now reduced to K49 while a 5GB plan which was sold at K550 is now K249. These are only some examples of the price reduction. The post–paid bundle plans range from 300MB to 1 Terabyte bundle plans.

For prepaid internet plans the minimum purchase was K7 for 50 MB is now reduced to K2 for 30MB.

Currently, Telikom PNG has five internet bundle plans which include Prepaid Internet Plans, Home Internet, Blazer, School and Velocity Internet Plans.

The telecommunications company believes that, come July, customers will be able to share the experience of the 2015 Pacific Games with the rest of the world, through lower internet rates.
