Morobe’s Education Advisor, Keith Jiram, has warned teachers and students intending to cheat during the national exams that they will face tough penalties.
Jiram said students who cheat will not receive their certificates if they cheat and teachers could face termination.
He was speaking today in Lae as the grade 10 students sat for the second day of exams.
After the competition of day one of the grade 10 final exam yesterday, there have been no reports of cheating from schools.
However, the Program Education Advisor for Morobe, Keith Jiram, says students or teachers who are found cheating during the examinations will be dealt with accordingly.
Jiram spoke of this today after visiting all city schools yesterday. He said the conduct is the same for schools in other districts.
The only major incident that has marred the exam week has been the killing of a Bumayong student killed during a fight.
The school is being watched by police and Defence personnel following the recent clash.
The Grade Ten final examinations had started on Monday this week and will end on Friday.
The Grade Twelve students will sit their examinations from October 17 – 27, while Grade Eight examinations will be from October 24 – 27.
Meanwhile, schools and general public are asked to maintain their peaceful conduct in the province till the end of the final examinations.
