The Special Olympics PNG have now set their aim at making appearances in international events.
With the Special Pacific Games coming up in Fiji 2017, SOPNG aims to encourage athlete growth and promote inclusiveness.
There are also plans in place for a team PNG to take part in the 2018 Unified Football World Cup. It is a replica of the FIFA World Cup, remodeled to suit people with special needs.
This will be a platform where Special Olympics athletes can get exposure as they continue to participate in such events regularly.
According to SOPNG President, Takale Tuna, the selections will be made during the PNG Games in March of next year.
