The customary landowners of Kaevaga, now known as Morata one in Port Moresby, are supporting the settlers to stop the National Capital District Commission from evicting them.
Chairman of the Kaevaga Incorporated Land Group, Gaudi Guba, has warned NCDC to leave the customary land alone to the settlers.
On Monday, few houses were evicted at Morata One to pave way for a multi-million kina road through to Morata.
Today, the Kaevaga customary landowners who sold their land to the settlers gathered with the affected people to address their grievances to the media.
The settlers and Kaevaga ILG have identified that NCDC have taken their reserved landmark for the road construction, including some parts of the customary land where the settlers currently reside.
During the awareness session, before the eviction on Monday, NCDC assured them that they will be relocated.
However, the settlers do not want to move out from Morata One, where they have been living for the last 10 to 20 years.
The Port Moresby Local Land Court has issued a Court Order, restraining any eviction exercises to be carried out, pending the hearing of the substantive matter in Court.
However, on Monday they were forced to leave their homes.
Grassroots Foundation, a Non-Government Organisation which helps youths, women and children to alleviate poverty, presented a K2,000 Cheque to the settlers.
The money will help them to fight the matter in court.
Meanwhile, NCD Governor, Powes Parkop, will visit the settlers tomorrow to arrange for resettlement.
