Building infrastructure in rural local level governments is now the focus for the Komo Magarima District in Hela province.
This comes as the Komo people witnessed the opening of a health post and a church at Tombete village.
Komo Magarima MP, Francis Potape, says under his leadership the province will be rural focused so people benefit.
“Komo Magarima and Hela will see a new trend of development, we are now going to focus to develop rural places because that is where most people live”, said MP Potape.
MP Potape made these statements following the opening of a church and health post in Tombete village in the Komo-Magarima district.
The church and health centre is a partnership between the district, church, and landowner company Hides Gas Development Company.
“This partnership has again proven positive for people to benefit”, said Deputy Governor of Hela and Komo President, Thomas Potape.
The Health Post will benefit thousands in the Yakapa Council and nearby ward councils.
The health and church program comes under the district’s 2013 development plan.
A total of 106 pigs were killed for the occasion.
