Newly-elected Hela Governor, Francis Potape, says the assembly’s decision is for the good of Hela people.
Governor Potape said all current projects and decisions by dismissed Governor Anderson Agiru, will not be altered.
“All projects under Agiru’s leadership will go ahead”, Potape said.
The Komo-Magarima MP was sworn-in yesterday in a provincial assembly meeting after a motion to unseat Anderson Agiru was moved last week in Tari. After the seven days elapsed on a motion under Section 20 A & B of the Organic Law to dismiss Hela Governor Anderson Agiru.
Sworn-in Governor Francis Potape says, the decision is not for self-interest, but for Hela people to see a new system of governing and delivery of services to the people. Governor Potape says, dismissed Governor Anderson Agiru will remain as the Hela Regional Member with all his planned projects to continue.
Mr Potape has called on Mr Agiru to put the interest of Hela people forward and allow him to improve where the Agiru led-Government has failed to do.
Key points out of the 13 points leveled against Mr Agiru are the long absences in the province, no assembly meetings and no collective decisions by the Provincial Executive Council in relation to matters of the province.
