POM Women’s Softball Competition

Fine weather and a good pitch ensured there would be a great round of matches, as women’s A and B grade games continued in the Port Moresby Women’s Softball competition.

With the finals only a few weeks away, Yokomo were looking to secure good placing while the Stingerz took on bottle placed United Sisters.

Stingerz B grade softball team continued their fine run of form with a tremendous win over a very young United Sisters team.

With 2nd placed Chebu and 3rd placed Yokomo, hot on their heels, Stingerz upped the ante with an outstanding 21 – 1 victory.

Considering their youth and despite the mounting home runs against them, United Sisters continued with valiant efforts at scoring.

In the women’s A grade, a Yokomo team that have been on a roll took on a determined Chebu side.

A grade flyer’s Yokomo will be looking to cement their high placing when they take on Chebu after good wins over Wantiks and Stingerz.
