Ela Motors commemorate 50 years of operations

Leading car dealer, Ela Motors saysthe revised import duty structure on used cars is good for the industry.

Chief Executive Officer David Purcell believes this will lead tothe importation of quality used cars.

He was speaking duringthe 50th Berthday celebrations of Ela Motors in Port Moresby on Tuesday.

The commitment to meetthe demands of Papua New Guineas has seen various improverment in cars and trucks includingthe ToyotaLand-cruiser which to date remainsthe best forPNG rsquo;s rugged conditions.

Ela Motors isthe sole distributor ofthe Toyota brand products inthe country. Toyota was and is stillthe preferred brand when it comes to purchasing vehicles, be it used or new.

Chief Executive Officer David Purcell said since its inception in 1963,the company has provided quality products both for land and sea. Mr Purcell has welcomedthe government’s revised import duty on used cars. This means car importers will be responsible when it comes to quality.

Prime Minister Peter O’Neill was special guest atthe celebrations. He commended Ela Motors for being a good corporate citizen. The company’s hasthe pass – on effect onthe country.

To commemorate Ela Motors 50 years of operations,there will be special sales inthe sixteen Deallerships throughoutthe country.

There have been a number of car dealers but Ela Motors has dominatedthe market since 1963.In fact it has enjoyed this by over fifty six percent.
