PNG Economy In The Hands Of Foreigners

PNG Economy is still in the hands of foreigners. These words were echoed by a local consultant and former Madang administrator, Clant Alok.

Mr Alok said, human resource is important for building a nation’s economy and investing into human resources is the forward.

He said this during a cheque presentation by the Usino Bundi member, Anton Yagama, to Madang Students Association in Port Moresby today.

Mr Alok emphasized the need to increase human resource in Madang province.

He said there is a big difference in PNG’s Gross Domestic Product and Gross National Product.

Comparing East New Britain to Madang province, he said Madang has a long way to go in terms of improving its living standards.

The local MP when presenting the cheque said, he believes in human resource and is willing to support his students, especially for the purpose of contributing to development in his electorate.

A cheque of K5000 from the electorate’s District Support Improvement Program Funds was presented to the Madang Students Association, to assist the students during the Madang Provincial Day on August 17.

Apart from supporting the provincial day, the member has also assisted his students in paying for 2014 tuition fees.

The annual event will be staged at Gerehu Secondary School and is expected to be attended by senior public servants from Madang.
