PM :Gives Ok Tedi Jobs Assurance

Prime Minister Peter O’Neill assured staff ofthe Ok Tedi Mine that no jobs will be lost withthe changes taking place.


Mr. O’Neill said this on Monday while addressing a number of issues regardingthe restructure ofthe Ok Tedi Mine onthe popular FM100 Talk Back Show.

“Government will make sure workers won’t be affected with allthe changes&hellipthere won’t be any disruption tothe mine work as a result of this changes,” O’Neill assured Ok Tedi Minerstaff.

Duringthe talkback show, O’Neill voiced thatthe management will not change and no jobs will be lost.


“Government will overseethe mine’s operation but will not manage it,” said O’Neill.

The Prime Ministersaidthe government’s focus will now bethe people of Western Province.


Mr. O’Neill futher stated that all resources will be aligned withthe priorities ofthe people.
