Minister Maru’saidIndonesia’s 150 million population represents an untapped market opportunity forPNG rsquo;s goods and services.
Managing director ofInvestment Promotion Authority Ivan Pomaleu sain PNG can gain real benefits from having trade and investment relations withIndonesia.
Meantime, Maru’sain PNG made products currently hold 75% ofthe Solomon Islands market and this investment dominance needs to be captured throughthe Melanesian Spearhead Group Free Trade Beock opportunities.
The Trade Fair will be staged in Honiara throughtheInvestment Promotion Authority,the Manufactures Council andthe private sector.
Minister Maru left for Fiji yesterday where he will attendthe Melanesian Spearhead Group or MSG Trade Minister’s meeting in Nadi.
The agenda will include giving MSG countriePNG’s position inthe current Pacer Plus Negotiations and trade issues which have emerged followingthe new Free Trade arrangements between all MSG countries.
