During his speech, Governor Parkop said Port Moresby has no resources, but only benefits from provinces; therefore, acknowledging such occasions is important.
The NCD Governor said this during the Milne Bay Provincial Day celebrations, held today at Coronation Primary School in Port Moresby.
The UPNG Milne Bay students union and the Milne Bay people in Port Moresby, including their elected MP's, celebrated their day in style.
Milne Bay Governor, Titus Philemon, explained the reasons for hosting this event.
Governor Philemon says it is an event that will bring his people together to celebrate their culture and the food they share, as well as raising funds for the students to have awareness programs and fund their administration activities.
Parkop said he will continue to assist provincial groups to organize their provincial days. So far, they have issued K10, 000 to each provincial group.
There were 6 different traditional dancing and modern performances that were the highlights of the day.
