One of PNGs Anthropologists, Dies in Car Accident

One of Papua New Guinea’s best-known anthropologists, Nancy Sullivan, died in a car accident in the United States.

Minister for Foreign Affairs and Immigration, Rimbink Pato, has confirmed Sullivan’s death.

Minister Pato in a media statement said that the crash is being investigated.

Minister Pato expressed sympathy on the tragic loss and has assured the relatives of the immediate victims, that Papua New Guinea is liaising with relevant authorities in the United States.

Mr Pato said that the next course of action will be under taken once a full incident brief is submitted to the department.

Meanwhile Governor for Madang, Jim Kas, also has passed on his sympathies to colleagues, friends and relatives of late Doctor Nancy Sullivan.

Governor Kas said that the late Sullivan was a champion in her own ways and a true Papua New Guinea especially in Madang.

Several who were close friends to her also shared sympathies.

Roselyn Albaniel EVa’a, a journalist with Post Courier was shocked and saddened by her death.

Sullivan will be missed for her kind and loyal heart and we pray that her soul rest in eternal peace.
