Six police task force officers are currently under interrogation, after an alleged robbery took place at a car dealership in Port Moresby last Sunday.
It was reported that the officers allegedly stole K45,000 cash before managing to escape.
However, police have since recovered K14,000 and a licenced firearm.
The six suspects said they were simply searching the property for suspicious behavior, when they allegedly committed the crime.
Central Province and National Capital District Commander, Assistant Police Commissioner Sylvester Kalaut, cleared that both he and the Metropolitan Superintendent, Ben Turi, were not aware of any such search.
