NCD Governor’s Volleyball Competition

Selection for the NCD volleyball team to the 6th PNG Games will be made after the completion of the under 21 NCD Governors volleyball competition.

The competition is in its third day, with the finals to be played tomorrow.

Tournament sponsor NCD Governor Powes Parkop is optimistic the best volleyball team will be selected to represent NCD.

A team of young and talented athletes today occupied the volleyball courts at Murray Barracks.

Both male and female under 21 players came from suburban competitions to take part in the under 21 Governors cup tournament.

Participating teams come from around Port Moresby with most athletes coming from professional and skilled background of volley ball competitions. Most of the players are from Fairfax and ITI volley associations to be part of the long weekend tournament.

Tournament Director Nuga Dick, said, it is from this tournament, team NCD will be selected to represent the national capital district in the PNG Games in Lae later this year.

Nuga also said having competitions like this one, plus other local and sponsored tournament such ITI and Fairfax is a good practice ground for PNG Games in November this year.
