World Environment Day will once again be hosted by Port Moresby Nature Park on Saturday, June 4 from 9am-3pm in conjunction with partner BSP Bank for the fourth consecutive year.

The event stresses the importance and need to protect the environment by covering four key themes including, water conservation, waste management, clean energy and climate change awareness.

It will showcase over 20 different stalls and displays from various conservation organisations, government agencies, utility companies and business houses and is expected to be an even bigger event this year, with an estimated 3,000 people expected to attend the fun-filled event.

A number of interactive activities for kids including the BSP obstacle course, animal presentations, face painting, games and activities and many more will be featured during the event.

POM Nature Park’s News Supervisor, Ishimu Bebe said “World Environment Day is shaping up to be great family fun-filled day and we encourage everyone to come out to the Nature Park to participate in this community awareness event and celebrate with your family!”

Further information can be found on Port Moresby Nature Park’s Facebook Page or by contacting 326 0258. Standard entry fees will apply with guests receiving a ‘World Environment Day Brochure’, which includes the BSP secret phrase competition, whereby visitors must navigate themselves throughout the site to uncover a secret phrase in order to collect a prize at the BSP stand.
