Nationwide Campaign on Violence against Women Begins

A nationwide campaign on violence against women is being carrlied out today in various parts ofthe country including Port Moresby.

EMTV caught up with employees of Air Niugini and National Airports Corporation during a march along 6-mile to Air Niugini Haus this morning.

The message driven was to End Violence against Womenin PNG and aroundthe world.


The men and women tooktheir timeout from work to spreadthe message of endingthe violence women face every day in PNG communities.


President ofthe National Airline Employees Association, Theodorah Sapuri said men have lostthe consciousness of valuing women.


NAC’s Manager for Aviation Security Henry Maka called on all men to consider ther options to solve problems withtheir spouses instead of using violence.


The violence campaign is a first of its kind by Air Niugini and National Airports Corporation withthe support of UN.
