National Planning Welcomes New Staff

Acting Secretary for the Department of National Planning and Monitoring, Koney Samuel, has welcomed 30 new staff, recently into the Department.

Of the 30, 28 of them were student graduands, who have been engaged as casuals in the Department since July 2017.

The new staff signed short-term contracts with the Department, that will see them on the payroll, until the end of the contracts. The contracts are for 5 months.

Acting First Assistant Secretary, Corporate Services Division, Loma Pamea, said the Department as a central agency had provided these short-term contracts in complying with the Public Services Regulation.

“You are coming in at a time when we really need to lift our game. Our corporate image has really gone down and I think it’s time we rise up while our stakeholders are looking upon us as a Central Agency of Government,” Acting Secretary Samuel said when welcoming the new staff.

“We have a lot of work to do and there is a lot of expectation out there from our stakeholders and you are going to help us move this Department forward,” Mr. Samuel said.
