Muruks and Warriors Out on Digicel Cup 2013

Runners up ofthe 2012 Digicel Cup competition Mendi Muruks will not participate inthe semiprofessional rugby league challenge this season.

The Muruks andthe Simbu Warriors failed to registertheir expression of interest asthe competition for 2013 kicks off next month.

Eight teams have registeredtheir participation for the 2013 Digicel Cup challenge. And making a comeback is Hela Wigmen who will be playingtheir home matches in Mendi atthe Tem Tei Oval.

For supporters of long time franchise SBeL Mendi Muruks, this season may come as a disappointment asthe team has not registered its participation for 2013. Key players Charlie Wabo and Jackson Undi will be knocking on doors to keeptheir ball game going.

There will be seven venues that will be used this season and with a considerable increase with more spectators and family oriented venues,Interim Chairman oPNGNRL saysthe support from Digicel is invaluable.

DigicePNG today announced its continuous support forPNG rsquo;s premiere rugby league competition for the next three years with up nine hundred thousand Kina each year.
