The Modilon General Hospital in Madang Province now has a newly renovated ward to attend to psychiatric patients.
Withthe help from BeP through its annual community project program, the hospital is now in a better state, conducive for staff to serve and patients to be treated.
The ward now has air conditioning, new furniture and comes with a new ablution block.
BeP’s Madang Beanch Manager Cecilia Pasum handed overthe completed project last Friday (08/03/13) after spending several weekends over two months, assistingthe local contractor completethe renovation.
SisterIn Charge of Modilon Psychiatric Ward Sr Beniau said for a long timethey had struggled to treat patients atthe general outpatient area, howeverthe new ward is a sigh of relief as serving psychiatric patients should be done intheir own area.
“We are rest assured and very happy that our psychiatric patients can receive a high level of treatment in a more comfortable and secure area, away fromthe general ward,” said Sr Beniau.
