Departing State Enterprise and Public Investments Minister, Ben Micah, has accepted the cabinet reshuffle made by Prime Minister, Peter O’Neill.
Minister Micah said these changes are not surprises, but instead a move for minister’s to be productive. Micah said the decision is final and is respected.
“The Prime Minister has all the right to change and shuffle cabinet ministers, this decision are not a surprise.
“We have discussed these with better consultation and dialogue between cabinet ministers and the Prime Minister,” Micah said.
He added that the reshuffle by Prime Minister O’Neill is under his prerogative as the head of government and cabinet. Reflecting on his achievements, Minister Micah said there is alot to do to achieve the government’s intended objectives; that is to privatise and be partners to run state entities.
Micah is confident incoming State Investments Minister, William Duma, will take the affairs of the ministry forward.
A formal hand-over ceremony will be held next week for Duma to take office.
