This year marks the 2015 Pacific Games year of action as preparations come into full swing.
As the Pacific Games Committee has marked this year as the ‘call to action’ year, they have organized to launch the 2015 Games mascot next month. The committee said to step up its efforts as the countdown continues.
The Games Organizing and Venue, Infrastructure and Events Committees are working around the clock to complete the under-construction sites in time for the big event.
The Games Organizing Committee Chairperson, Emma Waiwai said they will be sending two of their members to accompany Team PNG to the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games to observe the games and how it will be organized. This will help them with organizing the Pacific Games.
Games Organizing Committee CEO, Peter Stewart said the committee will be recruiting additional 100 people and will be supported by more than 3000 volunteers.
Expression of interest for a producer of the opening and closing ceremonies and a Games Relay Project Manager are still open. Also a Live Site Project Manager to provide coverage to other provinces.
