The Lae based Asylum Pressure Group wantsthe government to come out clear aboutthe economic benefits tothe province, ifthe deal is meant to benefit Manus.
During Manus day on Saturday,the Manus community couldn’t avoid airingtheir views onthe Asylum center issue.
The deal still plagues a Manus community that has kept quiet for the initial months whenthe whole country debatedthe deal.
The President ofthe Lae Manus Asylum Pressure Group, Ken Polin saysthe group was formed by Manus elit’s who strongly opposethe deal, if it doesn’t benefit Manus Province.
“Prime Minister Peter O’Neill must state clearly to Australia how much will go to Manus,” said Polin.
Whilethe rest of Manus is keeping quiet this small group is taking a stand.
The group is organizing awareness trips with UNITECH students’to Manus Province.
