Northern Governor, Gary Juffa claims that there are many illegal logging companies operating within the province.
And this has raised questions on the issue of permits.
This issue was also raised in the recent Parliament sitting.
Government departments and agencies responsible for issuing permits to logging companies have come under the microscope of the Northern Governor.
At the launching of the Managalas Conservation Area recently, Juffa said he has given notice to the Forestry Ministry of logging projects in the Province.
Juffa has cautioned that failure by the responsible authorities to address this issue might cause a chaotic situation where people will take the matter into their own hands.
Environment and Conservation Minister, John Pundari was also present at the event, acknowledging the Governor’s plight.
Minister Pundari assured the people of Northern to set up an investigation.
