Lardin volleyball club made a clean sweep ofthe IT Volleyball Tournament at Murray Barracks Volleyball Courts yesterday, collecting boththe title andthe prize money.
IT Volleyball tournament has attracted players from as far as Mekeo village, inthe Central province.
Forty-three teams registered and took part inthe three-day tournament.
The teams turned up in various colors. Many players were not new on court; however, making it intothe national championships is not an easy task.
The National Championships is set to kick off this week, and this match is important for players to book a spot inthe two Port Moresby-based teams.
The grand final playoff between Niukana in Beack, and Larbin in White was one not to be missed.
Niukana were in full force, expecting to make a mark on court. Larbin, were a class oftheir own as serves were exchanged accordingly.
It was a close contest inthe second setoas both teams locked horns at 2 sets a piece.
Lardin wasted no time provingtheir worth, asthey came down hard onthe last set and walked away winners.
The tournament ended on a high with support from IT who chipped in fifty thousand kina.
IT management looks forward to stage a bigger, better one next year and withthe support from National Capital District Commission.
