Land Owners Thank Duma

PDL 7 landowners today took time to thank the outgoing Minister for Petroleum and Energy, William Duma, for his contributions to bringing the LNG project this far.

Concurrently, they welcomed the new Minister, Nickson Duban, to his new role.

They hope the new minister will address most of their issues regarding outstanding ministerial commitments.

Executives of the PDL 7 Umbrella Association today got together to appreciate side-lined Petroleum and Energy Minister William Duma, for his involvement in the LNG project from day 1.

He exits this portfolio at a time when the LNG project is complete and the first gas shipment due in a few months’ time.

Association executive, John Honale also thanked Duma and said the association has great confidence in the minister appointed, Nickson Duban, to carry on from where Duma left.

Deputy Chairman of the association, Eric Hawai, said there were two petitions before the government which are yet to be addressed, and he called on the new minister to look into those petitions.

He said the government may have received petitions from different LNG landowner groups, but all for the same purpose; they want the ministerial commitments to be fulfilled before the first shipment of gas.

They all thanked Mr Duma for his efforts in the LNG project, and welcomed Mr Duban to the role.

They assured Mr Duban of their cooperation and support in the years to come.
