Kwikila Secondary School to Close

By Vasinatta Yama – EM TV News, Port Moresby

The appointment of a new school principal and no royalty payments has caused the Kwikila Secondary School in Central province to close.

Landowner, Lalau Burana, claimed that no payment has been made since the school was purchased from his grandparents in 1914.

Burana also said that landowners did not agree with the Provincial Education Board’s decision to appoint a new school principal.

Meanwhile, landowners planned on staging a peaceful protest today, but it has been pushed back until next Monday due to court orders and other matters still being discussed around this matter.
