Kudjip community rebuilds burnt down classrooms

A community school in highlands has turned tragedy into triumph.In August last year, a fire destroyed two bush material classrooms atthe school.

Bet it was all smiles this week as Kudjip ChristianIntergrated School opened its new classrooms and water taps on Wednesday.

Kudjip ChristianIntegrated School is located in Jiwaka province. The school children were excited becausethey now have a new double classroom, thanks to funding froPNG Sustainable Development Program. 

PNGSDP contributed sixty two thousand kina for the classroom whilethe rest came fromthe community. It also includes a new office and water supply for the school. There are four water taps divided in half for the three hundred plus students’andthe community.

When fire razed down two bush material houses last year, this community was determined to rebuildthem. Their efforts were recognised bPNGSDP.

Jiwaka Governor William Tongap urged his people to look afterthe properties.

Kudjip ChristianIntergrated School is situated in a place that covers four LLG’s with a population of twenty thousand people. More classrooms are needed and withthe government’s free education policy this can be achieved.
