Koiari Development Priority says Central Province Governor

Central Province Governor Robert Agarobe has reassured the people of Koiari and the landowners of the Sirinumu Dam that under his new administration, they will deliver much needed services and meet landowner demands.

“As a man from Koiari, I understand that my people do not want to be involved in politics of service delivery, they just want results,” Agarobe said.

In a visit yesterday, Governor Agarobe was accompanied by NCD Governor Powes Parkop who was there to show his commitment in helping the landowners of the water dam that supplies the city.

“I want to thank the people of Koiari and Sirinumu for your understanding in opening our water valves last Friday. You handled the situation in a peaceful manner and I thank you for that,” Governor Parkop said.

It has been a constant problem between landowners and the National Government where landowner demands have not been met.

President of the landowners Ogi David said since 2013, MOUs have been signed to construct a sealed road between Sogeri and Sirinumu however, to date work is yet to be completed and outstanding funds remain.
