Gore denies involvement in political upheaval

Sohe MP Delilah Gore has denied any involvement in the recent political upheaval in Northern Province, despite the surfacing of a controversial cheque with her signature implying the opposite.

She is very concerned about the situation and has urged all MPs to reach a compromise.

Her response comes after numerous allegations were levelled against her. Delilah Gore, in a news conference today, clarified her involvement in the political crisis currently gripping Northern Province.

She was forced to break her silence after numerous allegations were raised against her by Northern Province Governor Gary Juffa.

She is aware of the allegations but denies any knowledge of the payment.

She said her department is not politically involved. Her priority is not to play politics but to deliver services to her people, she said.

Ijivitari MP David Arore on Monday declared himself governor of Northern Province in an illegal PEC meeting, with the support from LLG presidents.

He maintains his appointment is legal according to section 20 of the provincial and local level governments.

But the minister responsible for provincial governments, Deputy Governor Leo Dion says Gary Juffa is still the legitimate governor of Northern Province.

Governor Juffa has taken the matter to court. He has condemned the actions of the LLG Presidents and Ijivitari MP David Arore.
