K19.2 million Business Development Grant for LNG Landowners

By Jack Lapauve Jr, EMTV – Port Moresby

Komo-Magarima MP, Francis Potape, has appealed strongly to paper landowners in Hela not to interfere with landowner benefits of genuine resource owners.

MP Potape said many times project benefits fall in the wrong hands.

He made these statement has PDL’s 1 to 7 landowners prepare to receive an overdue Business Development Grant of nine-teen point 2 million next week.

MP Francis Potape said since coming out of prison, his office has been demanding Prime Minister Peter O’Neill to release this overdue payment to genuine landowners.

Potape strongly believes all benefits from LNG proceedings must be not paid in Waigani but in Hela. And according to percentage benefits, a transparent payout in public will be done.

“We will pay clans in public so everyone calculates and know the exact amount of benefits they get,” Potape said.

Deputy Governor of Hela, Thomas Potabe, called on people to use the K19.2 million wisely once it is paid out.

“Use the money in a more beneficial way to sustain your lives,” Potabe said.
