International Day Of Happiness

Let’s create a happier world together. At this time of grave injustices, devastating wars, mass displacement, grinding poverty and other manmade causes of suffering, the International Day of Happiness, which fell yesterday, March 20, is a global chance to assert that peace, wellbeing and joy are important.

The celebration of this event is a way to recognise the importance of happiness in the lives of people around the world.

The International Day Of Happiness was introduced by the General Assembly of the United Nations during 2012 and was celebrated for the first time in 2013.

Through seminars and educational tips and tools, the aim is to educate and increase public awareness of the benefits of happiness.

To mark this event, the UN launched 17 Sustainable Development Goals that seek to end poverty, reduce inequality, and protect our planet – three key aspects that lead to wellbeing and happiness.

Do what makes you happy, smile, share, eat healthy, be grateful, give back, think positively, spend some time with friends and family and time for yourself, listen to music, say thank you and mean it, compete, be charitable, say “all the more” instead of “nonetheless”.

Be happy, and see good in every situation that makes you happy.
